Training

Gore Hill Fire Rescue strives to provide relevant, quality instruction to all employees.  Our goal is to prepare our firefighters and EMTs to serve our community safely, effectively, and efficiently through evidence-based practice. We work closely with Montana State University’s Fire Service Training School to ensure congruence between standards and fireground operations.

The foundation for our training is based on “Training in Context” to the work and involves scenario-based evolutions geared toward addressing real-life incidents while incorporating new techniques and innovation in resolving emergency incidents.

Instruction is provided to the entire department with a focus on core competencies.  Training is ongoing at both stations, where we maintain state-of-the-art training classrooms, live-burn building, a confined space prop, forcible entry prop, and vehicle extrication areas.

The department trains to fulfill our commitment to the community, “To care for and protect, the people, property, and environment” of the Gore Hill Community.
