Fire Chief John Schmiedeke is a Great Falls resident and native Montanan who possesses over 30 years’ experience as a volunteer firefighter. Raised in the fire department and growing up in the Bitterroot Valley, John served on Three Mile Fire Department in Stevensville. He served on Fort Benton’s Fire Department for four years, then moved to Gore Hill where he performed firefighter duties and advanced to Lieutenant before stepping into the role as Fire Chief in 2019.
When not leading the Fire Department, John is kept busy as the owner of Taylor’s Transportation. He is known as a professional, business-minded leader who always puts his people and their families first.
